CCD welcomes special visitor Dr. Francois Nedelec, of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg, Germany. Dr. Nedelec and his lab study how cells organize their cytoskeletal structures during dynamic processes such as cell division, using imaging and computer simulation methods to understand the interactions between actin, microtubules, and motor proteins. He will be giving a talk, “Predicting the contractility of random networks and the mechanics of blood platelets,” today, Tuesday, May 23, at 11 am in Rangos 490. Welcome, Dr. Nedelec!
