Our group is focused on understanding how intracellular signaling gives rise to dynamic cellular functions. We develop a series of molecular sensors and actuators that enable visualization and manipulation of target signal transduction at high spatioteompral precision. Integrated use of these molecular probes “deconstructed” how cells achieve sophisticated information processing. We also explore “construction” of cell functions such as chemotaxis, phagocytosis, in inert cells, or even in artificial cells, aiming to apply them for biomedical uses in the future.
